As the fall sports season closes in on postseason play the girl’s golf teams start to prepare for Regional action on Monday October 14th, but before that the Holton Wildcats took to the course and competed in the Silver Lake Invite, before they wrap up the season at the Basehor-Linwood Invite on Thursday (October 10th).

Many say that is only takes one-point to win and that's all Holton needed on Monday (October 7th) was one-stroke better than Hayden to help them capture another tournament crown this year after winning their first this season a few tournaments ago in Council Grove. Wildcats posted a team score of 200 to grab first place and were led by an individual first place performance by senior, Kyrstie Miller who shot a 41, two-strokes better than second place. Sophomore, Maddie Foster joined her teammate in the top 10 on the day posting a 51 good for seventh place after the tiebreaker.

Sam Herring and Anne Bowser rounded out the team score for the Wildcats both posting rounds of 54 on the day. While, Quinn Holaday and Paige DeLay each competed for the Wildcats also, notching rounds of 55 and 59, respectively.

The Jeff West Tigers also competed at the Silver Lake Invite and took home a fifth place team finish out of nine teams posting a 217, while Santa Fe Trail took sixth with a 219. For the Tigers their top performance on the day came at the hands of Olivia Neuenswander who shot a 51 and finished eighth place after the tiebreaker.

For the Holton Wildcats they will look to carry their momentum from the Silver Lake Invite into their final tournament of the regular season on Thursday at Basehor-Linwood, while Jeff West will compete in Rossville on Thursday to wrap up their regular season. Then the teams will turn their attention to Regionals on Monday as they both will compete at Dubs Dread golf course in Kansas City with KC Piper playing host.
