The air attack returned after a one-week a hiatus for the B&B Falcons after Mother Nature forced the Falcons to use the ground attack to get past Southern Cloud in round one, the weather was beautiful on Saturday (November 9th) and the B&B took flight in Waverly.

It was a slate-mate early between a pair of 9-1 teams in the B&B Falcons and Waverly Bulldogs in Waverly but that soon changed as the Falcons found their groove and went on to lead it 44-0 at the half and grab the 50-0 win, ending the game with six minutes left to go in the third quarter of action.

The scoring got going for the Falcons with the first three TD's coming out of the hands of quarterback, Dustin Rottinghaus as he connected with Cameron Haug, Blake Deters and Brandon Bergman. Falcons started the scoring an 17-yard TD pass to Haug, then Deters caught a 27-yard TD pass and Brandon Bergman on his only reception of the caught a 23-yard TD, giving B&B a 22-0 lead.

Next score came via the special teams for B&B and it perhaps was in an unorthodox way as Dylan Steinlage field a punt and appeared to be tackled but fumbled the ball in the same sense and senior leader, Cameron Haug was Johnny-on-the-spot and picked up his teammate and the fumble taking it 42 yards to the house for the score.

Rottinghaus added his fourth passing TD later in the second quarter hooking up with B. Deters a 55-yard score for his second TD catch of the game and 17th of the season.

Waverly looking for some sort of offense to get a little since of momentum before halftime tried to go to the passing game but the Falcons made them pay as Brandon Bergman scored his second TD of the day with a 57-yard INT return for TD, to give B&B a 44-0 lead at the half.

Bulldogs started with the ball in the second half and driving with a nice saw the ball fall into the Falcons hand for the third time on a Waverly turnover as Blake Deters picked off a pass. Falcon’s offense took the field needing just a TD to end the game and Rottinghaus hit Haug with two big passes on the drive including the game winning score a 23-yard TD pass for Haug's third TD of the game.

Rottinghaus capped off his game going 15-19 for 246 yards and five TD passes to three different guys. Haug and Deters continued to post 100+ yard receiving games on a regular basis this year; Deters grabbed five passes for 110 yards, while Haug notched six catches for 102 yards.

With the loss Waverly finishes their season 9-2, while B&B soars to the semifinals now one win away from their sixth straight State championship appearance, as they improved to 10-1 on the season by beating Waverly. Next up another date with the Hanover Wildcats as they will square off for the second time against each other this season and it will be in Hanover again, coming up Friday, November 15th at 7:00pm; Falcons got the best of Hanover the first time 34-22 in Hanover.
