 Holton 35, Mulvane 14

For the second straight season, Holton ousted Mulvane in the Class 4A Playoffs.  Last year, it was a 28-6 win at Mulvane on way to an undefeated 4A State Title.  This year in regionals and playing a third game in 10 days, Holton had an easier time scoring on four of their first five drives for a 28-0 halftime lead and securing their 25th consecutive victory.  Holton's defense continues to dominate and held Mulvane to 99 yards rushing.  The Wildcats have held the state of Kansas two leading rushers (Ryan Schadler of Hesston and Michael Mason from Mulvane) in check within a five day stretch.

Holton ran for 464 yards total.  Drake Ewing got Holton on the board first with a 22 yard TD run and later added another trip to the endzone before finishing with 81 rushing yards.  Hampton led the Holton ground game with 219 yards and a 74 yard touchdown run that made it 14-0 after the Cats first two offensive drives.  Hampton also nailed all five extra points and is 54 of 57 on the year plus 3 for 3 field goals.  Mason Barta added a run TD and had a big interception on defense while quarterback Ethan Holaday capped Holton's scoring with a 36 yard run and finished with 54 yards on the ground and a 31 yard pass completion to Andrew Aeschliman.

Holton (11-0) now continues their 16th straight playoff campaign with a home game against #2 Andale in Sectionals on Friday, November 15th.  The Wildcats beat Andale 21-8 in 2010 at home and is now 10-1 all-time against teams from the Ark-Valley Chisholm Trail League in the post-season.
