Sabetha Bluejays played host to a pair of out of state opponents on Thursday night in a double dual on the mats and walked away with a pair of wins at home against Rock Port and Auburn.

Bluejays flew past Rock Port behind a 66-16 win as the Bluejays were aided by six forfeit wins but saw plenty of great performances in the dual, also. Sophomore, Trei Harrell worked himself to a pinfall win at the 120lbs weight class registering a win in 5:02, while junior, Kyler Krebs notched a win via pinfall, also winning in 3:21 to take his match in the 152lbs weight class. Senior, Michael Baumgartner and sophomore, Brandon Poe got in the winning action for the Bluejays, too as they both won their matches by pin on the night. For Baumgartner he pinned his opponent in 3:42 at 170lbs, while Poe won in just 37 seconds at 182lbs. But the most impressive win came by Brendan Rokey who won his match via pinfall in just 28 seconds at 160lbs.

Against Auburn the dual was closer but the Sabetha finished the night with another win this time 48-33 over Auburn. The Bluejays did pick up five forfeit wins in the dual but also three pinfalls wins, too. Rokey picked up another pinfall win on the night at 160lbs this time in 33 seconds, while Jacob Leuthold won via pin in 1:42 at 285lbs and Austin Garber won at 145lbs with a pinfall win in 2:15.

Rock Port best Auburn in the other dual on the night with a 39-27 win.

Sabetha looks to continue the momentum from the wins over Rock Port and Auburn when they next take to the mats on Saturday when they host the Tri-State Tournament in Sabetha.
