It was an early season matchup in the Twin Valley league with the B&B Falcons hosting the Washington County Tigers and it was split of the twin bill with the Lady Tigers winning 40-35 and the B&B boys notching a 51-38 win.

Both teams came into the game at different marks early on in the season with the Falcons hitting the court for only the second time on the season, while Tigers had four games under their belt coming into the night.

The girls took the court and it was a sluggish start to the game by both teams as B&B Falcons worked to a 11-9 lead after the first quarter, but the Tigers manage to tie the game at 16-16 at the half. Senior, Laura Sudbeck lead the Falcons in the first half scoring 10 of the teams 16 first half points.

In the second half the third quarter Sudbeck started to get help from her teammates scoring as senior, Katie Huerter busted out for all of her eight points in the third quarter and the Falcons lead by four going into the fourth period. But the Tigers pushed back at the Falcons and late in the ballgame took the lead and the Falcons were unable to answer late falling 40-35 after the Tigers put together a 16-7 fourth quarter.

Falcons were led by Sudbeck who finished the night with 15 points earning "Community National Bank" Player to Bank On on KMZA but fouled out late in the fourth quarter. With the loss the Falcons are 1-1 on the year.

For the Tigers they were led by junior, Erin Alexander who tallied 16 points on the evening to help keep the Tigers unbeaten on the season moving to 5-0.

The boys competition started off almost a mirror image of the girls contest that is low scoring and one B&B Falcon dominating the teams scoring.

Falcons started off pushing to a 9-4 lead after the first quarter and stretched that to a 17-9 lead at the half, holding the Tigers to four first half field goals and a free throw. While B&B was lead by senior, Dustin Rottinghaus who scored 15 of the teams 17 first half points and went on to control the game the rest of the way posting 27 points more than half of the Falcons final score.

Second half opened up and the Falcons continued to stretch their lead behind a 17-9 frame and senior, Dylan Schmitz finally got into the scoring action posting eight of his 12 in the third quarter for the Falcons, as they went on to notch the 51-38 win over Washington County.

Rottinghaus continued his shooting barrage in the second half as he finished with his 27 points, earning the "Community National Bank" Player to Bank On honors on KMZA, going 4-4 from the charity stripe. Falcons with the win moved to 2-0 on the season.

Washington County in the loss was led by sophomore, Cole Thompson who posted 12 points, all in the second half, while Andrew Tiemeyer added nine points. Tigers with the loss fell to 2-3 on the year.

Both teams have a pair of games looming next week before Christmas break as Washington County will host Axtell on Tuesday (December 17th) and travel to Wetmore on Friday (December 20th). B&B heads out on the road for their final two games before Christmas as they travel to St. Mary's on Tuesday and Frankfort on Friday.
