Just a few days off the Twin Valley League tournament the Onaga Buffalos headed home to host the Hanover Wildcats in a TVL regular season twin bill and it was the Wildcats winning a pair of close games. Lady Wildcats snared a 57-50 win taking it from the grasps of the Buffalos and the Wildcat boys notched the 55-44 win.

In the girls game it was all Onaga early as the Buffalos defense forced turnovers on Hanover, established a post presence and saw the Wildcats miss fire on a multitude of three-pointers. The Lady Buffalos worked out to a 14-6 lead after the first quarter and held a six point lead at the half and despite Hanover getting close in the third the Buffalos led 40-35 after three. In the fourth quarter a few three-pointers finally started to fall for the Wildcats, who finished 6-26 from three-point land and the Wildcats made a push to take the 42-40 lead. Onaga answered with a pair of free throws to tie the game but Hanover went on a 7-0 run to regain the lead and never give it up down the final minutes of the game to grab the 57-50 win.

Onaga was led by the dynamic duo of Jocelyn Marten and Rebekah Glessner who tallied 22 and 18 points, respectively both earning Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" honors on KMZA in the loss. Lady Buffalos with the loss fall to 3-9 on the season.

Hanover with the win improved to 6-8 on the season and was led by Riley Doebele who scored 16 points, while Shelby Bruna added 14 points.

Fresh off the TVL tournament championship the Hanover Wildcat boys took the early on the road over Onaga leading 16-8 after the first quarter and 28-17 at the half. Onaga battled back in the second half closing the lead to single digits multiple times but the Buffalos spurts were never enough to get them over the early hole as Hanover made 9-11 free throws in game and all in the fourth quarter to help them secure the 55-44 win.

Onaga was led by Michael Bliss who tallied 13 points and hit three three-pointers to earn the Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" honors on KMZA. Wyatt Cordell joined Bliss in double figures finishing the night with 10 points while Mitchell Duer and Jarod Gronewoller each posted nine points. Buffalos with the loss fall to 6-6 on the season having lost their last five games.

Hanover with the win moves to 11-3 on the year and extends their winning streak to five straight games. Wildcats on the night were led by Wade Steinfort who posted 17 points, while Andrew Bruna and Ethan Fritschi each added 10 points apiece.

Both Onaga and Hanover get back to action in league play on Friday as Onaga heads to Linn and Hanover goes on the road to Axtell.
