(KLZA) -- Nebraska boys sub-district basketball tournaments get underway this week.
In Class C-1 the Falls City Tigers are the top seed is Sub-District #1. The 8th ranked Tigers (21—2) will take on Auburn Tuesday at 5:45 p-m at Beatrice High School in a game that can be heard on SUNNY 101.3. The Tigers are 3-0 against Auburn this season. The Johnson County Central Thunderbirds are seeded second in the same sub-district and will take on Syracuse at 7:30 p-m a game that can also be heard live on SUNNY 101.3.
Likely waiting in the District Final will be 2nd ranked Lincoln Christian, a team that is 16-6 on the season.
On A-M 1230, KTNC Tuesday evening, Class D-2 second ranked Falls City Sacred Heart will take on Lewiston in sub-district action at Johnson-Brock High School at 6 p-m. The top-seeded Sacred Heart team is 3-0 vs. the Tigers this season. The second game Tuesday night will find Sterling taking on Parkview Christian.
The winner of sub-district 1, will take on the sub-district 2 tournament winner, project to be top-ranked Exeter-Milligan, a team Sacred Heart beat in overtime at the MUECAS tournament in Beatrice in January.
The Class C-2 sub-district tournament at Norris Middle School begins Monday with #4 seed HTRS against #5 seed Southern. The winner plays top-seed Freeman at 6 p-m with Palmyra taking on Tri County in the other semi-final.
Class D-1, 6th ranked Lourdes Central Catholic of Nebraska City opens sub-district play at Freeman High School against #4 seed Johnson-Brock Tuesday night. The other game in this sub-district has #2 seed Pawnee City taking on #3 seed Friend at 7:45 p-m
