Jefferson County North Chargers and Nemaha Valley Raiders got one final game in the regular season last night squaring off against each other in Seneca on Friday night and at the end of the night both schools got a win splitting the girls and boys matchups. The Lady Chargers registered their close 47-44, while the Nemaha Valley boys posted the 45-31 over JCN.

Night started with a battle between the #1 Class 2A unbeaten JCN Chargers and #8 Class 3A team in Nemaha Valley. The Chargers opened the game and lead 12-8 after the first quarter behind seven early points by Jacee Kramer. JCN pushed that lead out to eight leading 24-16 at the half on the road.

Coming out of the half the Lady Raiders pushed back and creep closer in the game closing the lead to seven after three quarters, while the Raiders continued to dwindle the JCN lead all the way down to three points, with some timely late shots. Lead down to three in the final seconds of the game, Nemaha Valley had an opportunity to tie the game but a three-pointer by Kennedy McKernan miss fired, giving the game to JCN 47-44.

With the win the Chargers capped off the regular season with a perfect 20-0 record and were led by Jacee Kramer who scored 24 points on the night, while Jenna Kramer added 11 points. In the boys matchup it was tied early at 5-5 but then the Raiders took control with a 9-0 run to end the first quarter leading 14-5. Nemaha Valley put the lead up to 10 at the half at 23-13 as Caleb Meyer chipped in a layup at the buzzer.

Second half it was much of the same shooting woes for JCN as Luke Pyle accounted for 12 of the teams 13 points at the half and that trend continued in the second half. The lead was cut to seven after three quarters, but Nemaha Valley in the fourth quarter down the stretch ultimately pushed the lead back to double figures to grab the 45-31 win.

JCN Charger, Luke Pyle finished the game with 22 of the teams 31 points on the night earning Atchison Bank "Player to Bank On" on KAIR radio. The Chargers with the loss saw their 10-game win streak snapped while moving to 12-8 on the season.
