Troy Boys Advance in Sub State

Troy 82, McLouth 47

It was a feel-good kind of night for the Troy boys as the #4 seed getting a Tuesday night victory against McLouth and setting a season high point total for the season.  Troy led 17-8 after one quarter and adding to their lead the rest of the game in route to a running clock throughout the fourth quarter.  10 players scored in route to an 82 point output, led by Collin Jasper with 25 points to earn "Player to Bank On" honors from the Citizens State Bank and Trust Company in Hiawatha.  Nathan Gaarder, William Boeh and Alex Schmille each added 9 points while Jake Ross had 8.  Troy improved to 13-9 and hit 22 of 29 free throws, including 15 of 16 in the second half. 

Troy will face top seed Valley Falls on Friday after JCN and Jackson Heights play in the other boys 2A Semifinal.  

McLouth, who also had their football season ended by the Trojans, finish with 10 wins for the second year in a row and got 12 of Nick McAferty's team high 15 points in the third period.  Fellow senior, Drew Cerny added 9 points and Nic Bair 8 for McLouth. The Bulldogs averaged 64 points per game during their first season with Coach Jason Graf,  but allowed 67 points or more in 12 contests .
