Nemaha Valley Claims Boy's Golf Title at Washington County Invite

It was the first golf meet of the year and six area teams faced off against each other with one other team at the Washington County Invitational on Tuesday and the Nemaha Valley Raiders started the season with victory.

The Raiders finished with the best team score posting a 358 on the day 22 strokes better than the second place team in Republic County (580). The host Washington County claimed third place with a 397 team score, while Onaga was fourth (409), B&B took home fifth in their first competition as team in golf (415), Linn grabbed sixth (502) and Marysville finished seventh place (542).

Nemaha Valley on the day was speared by plenty of top notch performances as senior, Justice McKernan won the competition posting a 85 on the day two strokes better than his teammate, Dylan Enneking who took second place with a 87. Raiders claimed two more top 10 finishes to finish out their team score as Blake Mohney shot a 91 good for fourth place and Cody Kramer put up a 95 taking eighth place, individually. Tristan Allen also competed for the Raiders scoring a 98 on the day, finishing 11th place.

Washington County who took home third place as a team was lead on the day by Evan Oullette who finished with a 91 taking third individually, while Matt Small placed 10th with a 97 on the day for the Tigers.

Onaga Buffalos were led by junior, Lucas Helget who finished fifth on the day with a round of 93, as Onaga placed fourth as a team. James Johnson, Jace Fisher and Ben Kufahl rounded out the Buffalos score finishing with rounds of 104, 105 and 107, respectively.

For the B&B Falcons who competed as a team in golf for the first time they finished fifth as team with Blake Scism and Cameron Haug each finishing with a round of 99 to finish tied for 12th on the day. Dylan Schmitz shot a 105 for the Falcons, while Trevor Holthaus rounded out the Falcons team score with a 112 and Kyle Kramer also competed posting a 131.

Linn was led by Andrew Meyer who finished with a round of 99 on the day, while Marysville lone competitor was Alex McAnerney who finished with a round of 110.
