Frankfort, Linn & Marysville Square Off at Frankfort Late Track Invite

Three area teams competed against each other at the Frankfort Late Invitational in track action on Tuesday as Frankfort hosted Linn and Marysville for competition.

On the boy’s side of competition Frankfort took first, followed by Linn in second and Marysville in third, while the Linn girls took first and Frankfort finished second and Marysville third in the team performances.

For Frankfort on the day the day was highlighted by multiple multi-event winners on both the boys and girls side of competition. For the boys Adam Koch paced his way to wins in the 800 meter run (2:19.03) and 1600 meter run (4:52.99), while the Wildcats 4x400 and 4x800 meter relay teams both won posting times of 4:19.35 and 10:21.79. Alex Roeder, Sheldon Parthemer, Jacob Studer and Ryan Kraushaar all won events on the track for Frankfort winning the 400 meter dash (59.20), 3200 meter run (13:45.10), 110 meter hurdles (17.58) and 300 meter hurdles (45.62), respectively. While, Lucas Adams won the only field event for the Wildcats boys claiming the pole vault title with a vault of 11'06.

The Wildcat girls were led by Marie Wessel who won both the shot put (32'01) and discus (99'05.50), while Ashley Joseph took home first in the pole vault (7'00) and Kinsley Gallion won the 400 meter dash (1:18.57).

Linn also had multiple multi-event winners on the day on both the boys and girls side of competition. Chad Gross led the charge on the day for the Bulldogs leaping his way to wins in the high jump (6'02), long jump (18'03) and triple jump (39'04). Brett Peters and Kurt Van Der Mewe each won a pair of events, too for Linn as Peters tossed his way to wins in the discus (135'00) and the shot put (47'00.50), while Van Der Mewe sprinted to the wins in the 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 11.42 and 23.18. Also on the boy’s side of competition, Josh Meyer won the javelin (151'10) and the Bulldogs won the 4x100 meter Relay with a time of 44.91.

For the Linn girls they won all but four events on the day of competition. Bulldogs relay teams earned the sweep as the 4x100 team posted a time of 51.20 to win, the 4x400 team tallied a time of 4:36.37 to win and the 4x800 team marked a time of 12:05.87 to earn the win. Nicole Ohlde took home first in the 800 meter run (2:55.11) and the 1600 meter run (6:14.82), while Kaylie Rahe won both the 100 meter hurdles (17.65) and 300 meter hurdles (50.54). In the field events, Acacia Thalmann, Rachel Bott, Hannah Bott and Brooke Diederich all won events for the Bulldogs. Thalmann leapt her way to the high jump (4’10) win, while Diederich and Rachel Bott each leapt their way to wins too in the long jump (15'00) and triple jump (30'10.50), respectively. Hannah Bott tossed her way to the win in the javelin with a toss of 123'06.
