Clifton-Clyde Girls Take First & Boys Fourth at Thompson Relays

Clifton-Clyde Eagles took to the track on Friday and competed at the Thompson Relays in Lincoln, KS and came home with a first place team finish by the girls, while the boys claimed fourth place.

The lady Eagles beat out seven other teams to claim the Thompson Relays title and were led by three first place finishes on the day. Kourtni Hubert paced Clifton-Clyde by taking home gold's in the 100 meter dash (13.52) and javelin (123'00), while the other gold by the lady Eagles on the day was claimed by the 4x110 relay team. On top of the three first place finishes the Eagles grabbed two second place finishes and seven third place finishes.

Elise Feight tossed her way to second place in the shot put and a third place showing in the javelin, while Elizabeth Nobert grabbed second in the triple jump and their a pair of third place finishes in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles. Lacey Biggerstaff, Baylie Bowser, Mikayla Kieffer and Abigail Sikes all posted a third place finish, too in the pole vault, discus, high jump and 2-mile run, respectively.

On the boys side of competition for the Eagles it was William Ohlde and Colby Sorell notching the top flight performances of the day for the team. Ohlde took home gold in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.88, while also finishing second in both the 200 meter dash and long jump. Sorell brought home gold in the 800 meter run notching a time of 2:33.65. Rayden Resco also had a top three finish for the Eagles as he finished third in the javelin.
