The volleyball season start in full force for the Twin Valley League and Northeast Kansas League on Tuesday, while Holton and Atchison also opened their season.

Twin Valley League (Week One - TVL recap

The Twin Valley League has four teams preseason ranked and plenty others that will challenge throughout the season in one of the toughest League's in the State. Teams opened League play on Tuesday night and started their season in the process for most of them, as two teams had already started their year with tournament action.

Four teams ended the night undefeated in League action as Centralia, Valley Heights, Frankfort, Washington County all won all of their matches, with the first three going 2-0 on the evening and Washington County winning three matches to start the year 3-0. Linn nothced a 2-1 record at the Washington Quad, while Troy, Hanover, Axtell and Clifton-Clyde all picked up a League win on the night. Blue Valley-Randolph, Wetmore and Doniphan West opened the season with a pair of losses, while Onaga went 0-3 at the Washington County Quad.

Axtell Triangular -- Centralia won 25-12, 25-11 over Blue Valley-Randolph
  Centralia won 25-13, 25-20 over Axtell
  Axtell won 25-16, 25-9 over Blue Valley-Randolph

Troy Triangular -- Valley Heights won 25-16, 25-20 over Troy
   Valley Heights won 25-12, 25-8 over Wetmore
   Troy won 25-17, 25-16 over Wetmore

Frankfort Triangular -- Frankfort won 25-23, 25-17 over Clifton-Clyde
  Frankfort won 25-12, 25-21 over Doniphan West
  Clifton-Clyde won 25-13, 25-16 over Doniphan West

Washington County Quad -- Washington County won 25-23, 25-14 over Onaga
  Washington County won 25-12, 25-11 over Hanover
  Washington County won 23-25, 25-16, 25-20 over Linn
  Linn won 25-12, 25-19 over Hanover
  Linn won 25-19, 25-8 over Onaga
  Hanover won 25-15, 18-25, 25-17 over Onaga

Northeast Kansas Leauge

All nine teams in the Northeast Kansas League hit the court in League action on Tuesday with all but one starting the season on Tuesday with League (Oskaloosa opened season over weekend).

At the end of the night Maur Hill-Mount Academy, Pleasant Ridge and Valley Falls each notched a pair of wins to open the year 2-0, while Horton, Oskaloosa and Immaculata posted 1-1 nights, splitting their matchups. Jackson Heights, McLouth and Jefferson County North open the year falling in a pair of contests, starting season 0-2.

Jackson Heights Triangular -- Maur Hill-Mount Academy won 25-13, 25-6 over Horton
  Maur Hill-Mount Academy won 25-14, 25-14 over Jackson Heights
  Horton won 25-22, 25-15 over Jackson Heights

Immaculata Triangular -- Valley Falls won 25-16, 25-15 over Jefferson County North
  Valley Falls won 26-24, 25-13 over Immaculata
  Immaculata won 25-22, 25-22 over Jefferson County North

McLouth Triangular -- Pleasant Ridge won 25-20, 25-15 over McLouth
  Pleasant Ridge won 22-25, 25-17, 25-18 over Oskaloosa
  Oskaloosa won 10-25, 25-6, 25-20 over McLouth

Non-League Matches

Two other area teams outside of the TVL and NEKL opened their volleyball season's on Tuesday night both in non-league action as Holton and Atchison each hit the court.

The Holton Wildcats preseason ranked number three in the 4A-DI KVA polls started the season 2-0 with wins over Riley County and Wabaunsee, while Atchison took down Bishop Seabury in a best of five match, winning in four sets.

Holton Triangular -- Holton won 25-20, 25-14 over Riley County
  Holton won 25-16, 26-24 over Wabaunsee

Atchison won 25-14, 25-15, 24-26, 25-17 over Bishop Seabury (best of 5 match)
