While many area teams were set to compete against each other in cross country action the Jeff West Tigers took on foes they don't see as much, competing as the only area team in the Santa Fe Trail cross country invite on Thursday.

At the end of the day the girl's Tiger cross country team finished third of the four teams in competition and the boys placed seventh as a team, but a individual fourth place performance that highlighted the day for the Tigers. In the girl's competition Makenzie Tucker led the way for Jeff West grabbing fourth place behind a time of 17:59.02.

Emma Broxterman had the second best time of day for the lady Tigers as she finished 18th, while the remainder of the lady Tigers team notched finishes of 20th, 23rd, 24th, 29th and 30th out of 31 competitors. Karli Fleischer grabbed 20th place, while Kyra Miller placed 23rd, Janelle Debus took 24th, Destiny Wright placed 29th and Madison Kueny finished 30th.

In the boys competition the top Tigers performance came by Hunter Carter who finished 25th on the day. Liam Magathan finished 43rd for Jeff West, while Grahem Straley, Jacob Valdivia, Isaiah Schmidt and Nathaniel Schmidt finished 47th, 48th, 49th and 50th, respectively.

The Tigers while take to the course for cross country action again at the McLouth Invite on Thursday, September 18th.
