Sabetha Wins Home Girl's Tennis Triangular With Perry Lecompton & Marysville

Sabetha hosted a pair area teams in Perry Lecompton and Marysville for girl's tennis action on Monday afternoon and the Bluejays came away with first place in the Triangular, while the teams put together a day full of competitive matchups between each other.

Leading the way for the Sabetha Bluejays was Lexi Wenger who captured the only first place finish in the Triangular for Sabetha as she went 2-0 in the singles #1 competition. Lexi topped Megan Hill of Marysville 8-1, while beating Perry Lecompton's, Savannah Tubby in a tighter competition winning 8-5. Tubby of Perry Lecompton won the other matchup on the day winning 8-5 of Hill of Marysville.

In the singles #2 competition, Lauren Menold posted a 1-1 record for the Bluejays grabbing the win against Haley Bruna of Marysville in a tight 8-6 match, while falling to Perry Lecompton's Lia Jones who edged out Menold 8-7 (7-1). Jones finished the day 2-0 in the singles #2 competition, by also beating Bruna of Marysville with a 8-7 (7-4) win.

Both doubles teams for the Bluejays notched 1-1 records, while both Marysville Bulldogs doubles tandems went 2-0 for wins.

Doubles #1 competition had the team of Jordyn Wells and Alexa Menold for Sabetha competing and they picked up a 8-5 win over Perry Lecompton's team of Harleigh Robertson and Caitlyn Robb, while falling in a tight 8-6 match against the team of Casey Cohorst and Maddie Ellenbecker of Marysville. Cohorst and Ellenbecker also picked up an 8-4 win over the Kaws team of Robertson and Robb.

In doubles #2 competition the Bluejays team of Jena Winkler and Nicole Brey went 1-1, beating the Perry Lecompton team of Anne Guess and Ciana Bateman 8-6, while falling to Marysville in the tightest match of the day 8-7 (7-5). The Marysville team of Allison Ronnebaum and Emma Hill went on to go 2-0 on the day by beating Perry Lecompton also with an 8-6 win.

Next up for Perry Lecompton they get back to action on the courts on Saturday, September 27th at the Spring Hill Invite, while Sabetha will hit the courts next week on Tuesday, September 30th at the Hayden Quad and Marysville gets back to action the quickest as they will participate in the Concordia Invite on Thursday, September 25th.
