Jeff West Girls Golf Team and Holton's Miller Make State

The Jeff West girls golf team continued a strong 2012 fall season and placed second at their home Class 4A Regional on Tuesday at Village Greens in Ozawkie.  The Lad y Tigers were 29 strokes behind Regional champ Hayden, but a second place team finish will send the entire squad to state October 15th at Hesston Golf Park.   4A Girls State Golf Info

Leading Jeff West on their home course Tuesday was Abbey Thelen (senior) who placed fourth with a round of 82.  Thelen actually tied for the second best round of the day of settled for fourth on the tie-break.  Ally West (senior) was next for Jeff West with a 95 that placed 13th overall while Allie Deiter (sophomore) was 21st and Sarah Allison (junior) finished 23rd. 

Kyrstie Miller (junior) will represent Holton at the state tourney as she carded a 92 on the day to place 10th overall and earn a state berth.  Fellow Wildcats Haley Rhule (senior, 110) and Anne Bowser (freshman, 113) and Alli Morris (sophomore, 119) also finished in the top 30 but missed the state cut.  Holton placed fourth as a team, still 22 strokes behind 3rd place state qualifying KC Piper. 

Peyton Workman (freshman) led Santa Fe Trail with a 110 to place 22nd but also did not qualify to state.
