Royal Valley Takes Fifth at Abilene Volleyball Invite

The Royal Valley Panthers continued their volleyball season on Saturday at the Abilene Invitational as the only area team competing at the competition and at the end of the day came home with a fifth place performance.

Panthers took to the court in pool play to start their day at the Abilene Invitational and went 1-2 in pool play action picking up a three set win over Topeka High winning 14-25, 25-22, 25-18. Royal Valley in pool play action loss to Ellsworth (25-16, 25-21) and Smoky Valley (25-17, 25-25).

After going 1-2 in pool play the Panthers took on St. Mary's in the fifth place match and used three sets to gain the win to cap off the Abilene Invitational, winning 25-17, 17-25, 25-14. Royal Valley wrap up the regular season 21-14 and now turn their attention to Sub-State action.

The host school Abilene claimed the championship over Smoky Valley at the Abilene Invitational.
