After Holton scored the first two points of the game, the Lady Bluejays went on a 12-0 run and hit a trio of three-point baskets to take a 17-4 lead after one quarter.  Sabetha led by 15 points at halftime and Holton never got any closer than 8 points in the second half.  Alexis McAfee scored a game high 13 points and hit all six of her free throws while directing the Bluejay offense.  Mariah Huneke scored 9 points while Taryn Schuette added 6 and Lexi Wenger had 5 off the bench in the first half.  Schuette, McAfee and Wenger all hit treys in the opening quarter, which proved to be the difference in the game.  Holton ended with 15 turnovers and was led by Courtney Boswell with 9 points.  Shay Tanking hit a pair of three's in the third quarter to pull Holton within 10 points and she finished with 7 in her first high school game while MacKenzie Moore added 5.

BOYS = Sabetha 52, Holton 39

Sabetha led by as many as seven before Holton closed the first half of a 10-2 run to lead 21-20 at the break.  The Bluejays dominated the second half and pulled to a big lead of 52-31 before Garett Beecher scored the last 8 points of the game for Holton.  Beecher finished with a game high 22 points, but was the only Holton player in double figures as Trey Tanking added 8.  Calder Keehn and Brock Frey used a size advantage inside to combine for 25 points and the Bluejays out rebounded Holton by nearly 20 boards and earned multiple second chance opportunities on offense.  Keehn scored 13 and Frey had 12, including Sabetha's first trey of the game in the third quarter followed by a Frey steal and layup to put the Jays ahead 35-23.  The Jays won the third period 18-5 and never surrendered a double-digit advantage.  Kegan Schumann added 11 while Brett Plattner and Kellen Russell each chipped in 7 for the balanced and deep Bluejay squad.
