Royal Valley Panthers took to the mats on Saturday taking part in the Topeka Seaman Duals competing with five other schools.

At the end of the day the Panthers finished sixth place, falling in all six of their Duals on the mats. Royal Valley opened the day in Round One taking on Blue Valley Southwest and falling 66-15 in the dual, while in the second round Royal Valley made it a tighter bout but taking the 38-27 loss to KC Turner. Royal Valley capped of the day with duals against Shawnee Mission East, Hays and Seaman falling 42-36, 55-15 and 66-9, respectively.

Highlighting the day for Royal Valley was junior, Noah Hart who posted a perfect 5-0 record on the day at the Seaman Duals, earning him a spot on the All-Tournament team at 145lbs. Hart picked up three pinfall wins and two wins via decision on the mat. He started the day with a win pinfall win in 3:47 over a Blue Valley Southwest grappler and followed that up with another pinfall win in 3:34 over a KC Turner wrestler. In round three, Hart picked up a 6-3 decision win over a Shawnee Mission East grappler, then picked up his fastest win on the day in round four beat a Hays wrestler in 1:00 win a pin. Hart wrapped up the day with a 4-2 decision win over a grappler from the host school, Seaman.

Six other Panthers picked up wins in at least one bout on the mats at the Seaman Duals against tough competition. Both, Jacob Box (195lbs) and Charles Todd (220lbs) posted 2-2 records on the day for Royal Valley. Box had a pair of decision wins posting 7-4 and 7-3 in wins over wrestlers from Blue Valley Southwest and Hays, respectively. For Todd he earned a pinfall win in 57 seconds and also a UTB 4-3 win over grapplers from Shawnee Mission East and Seaman.

Matthew Bailey (182lbs) also earned two wins on the day competing in three matches and going 2-1 with a pinfall (1:44) win and a 7-5 decision, also against KC Turner and Seaman, respectively. Tewin Roush (106lbs), Zack Lux (132lbs) and Jerry Coan (138lbs) each posted 1-4 records on the day for Royal Valley at the Seaman Duals. Roush notched a 12-11 decision win over a grappler from KC Turner, while Lux won via pinfall (4:53) over a wrestler from Hays and Coan picked up his win by a 4-1 decision over a wrestler from Shawnee Mission East.
