(KLZA)-- The Auburn Board of Education has decided against continuing a softball cooperative with the HTRS School District. Voting against ending the co-op were Board members Beth Kernes Krause and Troy Wynn.
Superintendent Kevin Reiman said it was a difficult decision due to the successful history of the co-op. Reiman said some Auburn School District parents felt it would be better to end the co-op and compete in Class C districts than play in Class B.
While the numbers are not great, there will be enough players from the Auburn District to have both a varsity and junior varsity team.
It is likely HTRS will be looking to co-op with a different school district for softball.
