The Falls City Sacred Heart Girls won the D2 State Basketball championship on Saturday and have claimed the top spot in the D-2 final poll in both the Omaha World Herald and Lincoln Journal Star. Sacred Heart finished the season with a 28-2 record.
Wynot, the team the Irish beat in the title game finishes second in the ratings and Stuart the team the Irish beat in the semi-finals was third. Hampton was 5th and 6th, the Irish defeated the Hawks in the District final and Exeter-Milligan was ranked 8th in the final poll in the Lincoln paper. Crawford, a team the Irish beat in first round state tournament play is ranked 8th in the World Herald.
In Class D-1 Friend finishes the season ranked 3rd in the Lincoln Journal Star and 5th in the World Herald. The Sterling Jets finish 9th in the World Herald.
In Class C-2 Yutan is ranked 4th in the Lincoln paper and 5th in the World Herald. Freeman finishes 6th and Elmwood-Murdock 7th in both papers.
In C-1 Omaha Concordia, the team that knocked Falls City out in the District Final is ranked 10th in both final polls.
