The Royal Valley Panthers softball team have been scoring runs at a high pace this season and holding their opponents down in the same sense throughout the year and that trend continued on Monday against the Nemaha Central in Seneca.

Behind 15-0 and 16-0 three inning run-rule wins the lady Panthers improved to 15-1 on the season, while sending Nemaha Central to 3-11 on the year. The action started off with Royal Valley pouncing on the lead early as the Panthers plated six runs in the top of the first inning in game one as an RBI double by Leslie Schuetz and a two RBI single by Maggie Schuetz highlighted the frame. Panthers offense didn't stop there as they added a run on a solo homer from Sarah Beam in the second and batted around in the top of the third to plate eight runs with a two-run homer by Masey Lafferty and solo homer by Kaileigh Gray-Milligan highlighting the third. Gray-Milligan got it done on the mound also pitching all three innings and did not allow a base runner in the contest, finishing with six strikeouts in the Panther 15-0 win. Gray-Milligan on top of the pitching win was 2-3 with a double and homer run, while Beam finished the game 2-2 with a home run two RBI's and a walk.

Game two started off much like game one as Royal Valley jumped out to the early lead plating five runs in the top of the first inning lead by a two-run homer by Leslie Schuetz, making it 5-0 early. The rest of the damage was done in the top of the third by Royal Valley as they scored 11 runs, batting around in the inning and capitalizing on four walks and a pair of Thunder errors, while getting two RBI doubles from Leslie and Maggie Schuetz in the inning. The Thunder had a better time at the plate in game two getting four base runners with three hits and a walk but struggled to find a consistent attack on offense, as the Panthers won 16-0 in three innings.

Brianna Delanyey, Erin Schmitz and Shania Schraad each had a hit for Nemaha Central in the loss. While Royal Valley was led by Leslie Schuetz who was 2-3 with four RBI, two runs scored and homer and double, while Maggiez Schuetz went 2-3 with three RBI, three runs scored with a double and Hannah Beam went 3-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. Hannah also earned the pitching win for the Panthers going all three innings giving up three hits, a walk and striking out four.

The Thunder now turns their attention to a double header in Effingham with ACCHS next Monday, May 4th, while Royal Valley travels to Riverside on Monday for their next competition.
