Sabetha Boys Golf Win Big Seven Quad at Perry

While Mother Nature caused much of Northeast Kansas high school sports on Monday to get washed out three Big Seven League boy’s golf teams were able to get a round in at Lake Perry Country Club for League Quad action host by Perry Lecompton.

At the end of the day it was the Sabetha Bluejays highlighting the action out of the three teams with golfers in action as the Bluejays posted a team score of 178 to top Perry Lecompton who had a team score of 191. Royal Valley was also in action on the day but did not have enough golfers to field a full team.

Four of the five Top five individual rounds were carded by Sabetha Bluejays as 14 individuals competed at the varsity level. Reese Lierz notched the best round of the day taking first place with a 40, while a 44 by Brendan Rokey gave him second place. Corbin Hall and Noah Garber posted rounds of 46 and 48, respectively to finish fourth and fifth place. Connor Epple and Jonah Montgomery also competed for the Bluejays carding rounds of 49 and 52.

Perry Lecompton was led by Alex Haynes who behind a 46 took third place individually on the day, while Cooper Busey and Corey Shackelford each notched rounds of 48 on the day for the Kaws. Nick Maloun tallied a round of 49, while both Chrisjen Schmidt and Dylan Potter each posted rounds of 51 for Perry Lecompton.

Royal Valley had a pair of golfers compete on the day as Brandon Hart and Max Hennis scored rounds of 58 and 71, respectively at Lake Perry Country Club.
