Clifton-Clyde Girls Take Third & Boys Seventh at Thompson Track Relays

The Clifton-Clyde Eagles flew into action on Friday at the Thompson Relays hosted by Lincoln and came away with several top performances including 17 Top five finishes on the day.

Leading the way was the lady Eagles as they registered 13 of the 17 Top five finishes helping them to take third as a team out of nine schools competing, while the boys took seventh as a team on the day.

Elizabeth Nobert and Kourtni Hubert continued to pace the Eagles during the track season as they both picked up a pair of first place performances. Nobert leapt her way to the high jump win with a mark of 5'0, while posting a time of 49.70 to win the 300 meter hurdles and took second in the 100 meter hurdles. While Hubert tossed her way to wins in the shot put and javelin behind throws of 35'02.50 and 125.09. One other first place finish was garnered by Clifton-Clyde on the day as Brian Reese vaulted to the boys pole vault win registering a mark of 10'06.

Pair of silver medals were grabbed in the girls competition as the lady Eagles 4x110 yard relay team took second and Lacey Biggerstaff placed second in the pole vault. Five different individuals picked up third place finishes for Clifton-Clyde as Bradley Koch and Eli Ohlde placed third in the boy’s high jump and discus, while on the girl’s side of competition it was Rebecca LeBlanc, Shaylea Lawson and Taylor Thompson placing third in the pole vault, one mile and high jump, respectively.

Emily Coffman and Rayden Resco each earned fourth place in the girl’s high jump and boy’s pole vault, while the lady Eagles 4x400 yard relay team also took fourth. A Top five finish was also earned by Baylie Bowser as she finished fifth in the discus.

The track season continues on Thursday for Clifton-Clyde at the Twin Valley League track meet.
