14 Medals Earned by Class 4A Area Atheltes at Kansas State Track Meet

Fourteen medals were earned by area athletes at State track in Class 4A action in Wichita at Cessna stadium over the weekend.

The Perry Lecompton Kaws led the way with six medalists including a pair of third place finishes as Abbi Folks took third in the girl’s triple jump and the boy’s 4x400 meter relay team of Cole Kellum, Seth Surface, Isaiah Dark and Cody Williams placed third. Austin Kurtz and Cody Williams each registered a sixth place finish in the boy’s javelin and 400 meter dash, while Cole Kellum took seventh in the 400. Taylor Ball grabbed an eighth place finish in the girl’s shot put for the Kaws in Class 4A.

The Holton Wildcats had five medalists at State track with Kimmie Snepp leading the way with a pair of bronze medals in the girls 100 and 200 meter dashes, while also teaming up with Ashlyn Weilert, Ashely Cook and Holly Karn to place fourth in the 4x100 meter relay. Karn also picked up a fifth place finish in the girls 100 meter hurdles. The lone medalist for the Holton boys was Indie Allen who took fourth place in the triple jump competition.

Atchision Redmen had a third and fourth place finish earned by athletes as Sarah Jaloma took third in the girls 1600 meter run and Jerel Rawls finished fourth in the boys 400 meter dash.

Jeff West Tiger, Michael Majors picked up a third place finish to medal in the boys shot put in Class 4A.
