2015 KVA Volleyball Rankings (after Week 1) - click here

The volleyball season is in full force with every team having at least a pair of matches under their belt thus far and the Kansas Volleyball Association has released its latest rankings after week one action. Seven Kanzaland area teams are featured in the rankings this week.

A pair of Big Seven League teams remain in the rankings in Class 4A-Division II but change spots after week one action. The Holton Wildcats who started the season off preseason number two have now taken over the number one spot in the 4A-DII rankings as they are 6-0 thus far after a pair of wins over ACCHS on Tuesday night. The Royal Valley Panthers also remain in the rankings but fall two spots this week to third in the rankings after a 5-4 start to the season that includes a pair of tough losses to Nemaha Central on Tuesday.

Just like in the preseason poll only one area team is ranked in Class 2A but this week it's a different team than the area team in the preseason rankings. The Valley Falls Dragons out of the Northeast Kansas League jump into the polls this week after a 7-2 start to the season, which includes wins over Jackson Heights and Pleasant Ridge on Tuesday. The Dragons check in at ninth in the 2A KVA polls this week.

Four Twin Valley League teams are in the rankings between Class 1A-Division I and Division II after week one action on the volleyball court. In Class 1A-DI the Centralia Panthers remain ranked second this week in the polls and have started the season off 9-0, picking up their latest wins on Tuesday against Hanover and Clifton-Clyde. While the Frankfort Wildcats join Centralia in the rankings this week in 1A-DI checking in ninth in the poll after a 3-1 start to the season, including splitting action on Tuesday at Axtell; beating Blue Valley but falling to Axtell.

In Class 1A-DII the Axtell Eagles remain ranked but move down two spots to third in the polls this week. The Eagles are 7-3 on the season after topping Blue Valley and Frankfort at home on Tuesday night in League action. Just like in the preseason poll fellow TVL school in Linn joins Axtell in the 1A-DII rankings this week as Linn remain ranked tenth in the polls after a 4-1 start to the season, which includes a 3-0 Tuesday night with wins over Troy, Doniphan West and Onaga.
