Centralia & Valley Heights Lead Area Cross Country Performances at Washington County Invite

2015 Washington County Cross Country Invitational Results – girl’s results & boy’s results

The start gun sounded and the runners were off at the Washington County cross country Invitational on Thursday as the Twin Valley League school hosted several other TVL schools, Nemaha Central and a few others for competition. 

Leading the way on the boy’s side was Valley Heights as they had three Top 20 finishers to help the team take first place by just three points over Wakefield, while Nemaha Central took third. Washington County and Onaga boys finished off the team standings placing fourth and fifth. For the girls it was Centralia claiming the team title over Washington County as only two girl’s teams. 

The best individual performance from the area was in the boys competition as Adrian Pishny of Valley Heights raced to a time of 17:46.48 to secure first place. Alex Hardin and Anthony Edwards also had Top 20 finishes taking fifth for Hardin (19:00.16) and 15th place for Edwards. A fourth and fifth place finish, respectively by Ilexus Rose and Skyler Saunders led Valley Heights in the girl’s race as they posted times of 23:59.92 and 25:03.83. Rosa Blaske picked up an 18th place finish also for the lady Mustangs. 

In the girls race the Top performance came from Sadie Jones who behind a time of 22:07.95 finished second, while Tamra Jones took fourth (23:59.92) and Maegan Koch placed seventh (25:19.00) for the Panthers. Madison Boeckman and Shaley Hipp registered 11th and 12th place finishes to finish out the lady Panther performances at the Washington County Invitational. In the boys action Dylan Boeckman picked up another Top 10 showing placing seventh with a time of 19:10.52, while Matthew Stallbaumer earned a 19th place finish. 

Axtell Eagle, Burke Deters posted a time of 18:27.43 to place second in the boys race, while his teammates Khristian Scheibe and Oliver Schmitz also notched Top 10 finishes placing ninth and tenth with times of 19:55.59 and 20:07.16, respectively. 

A pair of bronze medals led the Onaga Buffalo performances on Thursday at the Washington County Invitational as Michael Eisenbarth and Maggie Revell notched third place finishes each. Eisenbarth posted a time of 18:38.35 to take third in the boy’s race, while a time of 23:50.00 earned Revell third in the girls race. Belina Ames picked up a 17th place finish for the lady Buffaloes, while Luke Marten and Jackson Glessner finished 11th and 14th for the Onaga boys. 

Three Top 10 finishes led the host Washington County Tigers at their home meet. Emily Meyer and Rachael Wood finished eighth and tenth, respectively with times of 25:56.11 and 27:04.10, while Eric Miler placed eighth in the boys race behind a time of 19:10.28. Joe Stegman was the only other Top 20 finisher for the Tigers as he finished 20th in the boys race. 

Six Top 20 finishes were earned by Nemaha Central at the Washington County Invitational with a 12th place by Jordan Peterson leading the way in the boys race. Colby Rottinghaus and Keegan Schmelzle also finished in the Top 20 in the boys action racing to finishes of 16th and 17th. In the girl’s race Karen Rivera, Katia Rivera and Abbey Buessing placed 14th, 15th and 16th, respectively for the Thunder. 

 

Clifton-Clyde had one Top 20 finisher as Haley Hollon placed 20th in the girl’s race, while Troy also competed at the Washington County Invite and their best performance came from Reid Jasper who placed 21st.
