Two Northeast Kansas League schools traveled to Lyndon on Thursday to compete in cross country action and put together solid performances.

The Jefferson County North Chargers boys team picked up third place as a team while Valley Falls notched fifth place and the two schools had their best individual performances in the boys competition.

Leading the charge for the Chargers was Evan Weishaar who raced to a seventh place finish with a time fo 21:34, while Andrew Noll brought home ninth place behind a time of 21:43. Thomas Steichen also finished in the Top 20 for the JCN boys placing 18th, while in the girls competition Kayla Hutzell had the best Charger finish placing 17th. 

Matthew Branam paced the Valley Falls Dragons as he raced to a time of 21:26 to earn sixth place in the boys competition, while Justin Meyers took 12th for the Dragons. Rachel Woodgate took 24th place in the girls race for Valley Falls at the Lyndon Invite.
