A pair of Northeast Kansas League hit the volleyball court on Saturday at the Lyndon Invitational and came home with some impressive showings as Valley Falls claimed the tournament title and Jackson Heights took fourth place. 

The action started with pool play and Valley Falls and Jackson Heights both went 3-0 in pool play action to make it to the Semifinals. For the Dragons in Pool B they notched straight set wins over Northern Heights (25-13, 25-9) and Burlingame (25-10, 25-18), while beating Wabaunsee in three sets (25-13, 23-25, 25-19) to finish off pool play. The Cobras in Pool A had a pair of matches go three sets but earned wins in each one beating Marais des Cygnes Valley (25-13, 22-25, 25-23) and Lyndon (20-25, 25-22, 25-22), while finishing off pool play with a straight set win over Lebo (25-22, 25-23). 

Both teams moved into the Semifinals and Valley Falls took on Lebo, while Jackson Heights squared off with Wabaunsee. Both matches ended in straight sets as the Dragons won 25-7, 25-15 over Lebo and the Cobras lost to Wabaunsee 14-25, 9-25. 

The lost sent Jackson Heights to a rematch with Lebo this time for third place and the Cobras took set one, but Lebo bounced back for a set two win forcing a third set that Lebo earned to grab the win (12-25, 25-17, 25-17). The Cobras finished the tournament with a 3-2 record taking home fourth place. 

In the Championship match Valley Falls faced off against Wabaunsee once again in the tournament and unlike pool play this time the Dragons only needed two sets to earn the win (25-17, 25-20) and lay claim to the tournament title. Valley Falls capped off the tournament action with a 5-0 record.
