Nine Area Teams in KVA Volleyball Rankings After Week Three

Three weeks are in the books and we are into week four of volleyball action in Kansas and nine teams are in the latest Kansas Volleyball Association rankings. 

Both Class 1A-Division I and II house the top ranked area team as each team checks in again this week at number two in their respective classification. In Class 1A-DII the Axtell Eagles remain ranked second in the polls as they are 11-4 on the season after a 2-1 night at home on Tuesday beating Frankfort and Valley Heights, while falling to Centralia. 

Centralia also remained ranked second this week in the Class 1A-DI polls as the Panthers are 19-1 on the season beating Axtell, Frankfort and Valley Heights on Tuesday and winning the Hiawatha Invitational this last Saturday. Both Hanover and Immaculata also remained ranked in the 1A-DI polls as the Wildcats after a 2-0 Tuesday night with wins over Washington County and Onaga are now 16-4 on the season and up one spot in the polls to seventh. While, Immaculata picked up wins against Horton and Jackson Heights on Tuesday to move to 12-4 on the year and remained ranked ninth. 

Class 2A both the Washington County Tigers and Valley Falls Dragons remain in the rankings and are trending upward in the polls. The Tigers who went 1-1 on Tuesday night falling to Hanover, but winning against Onaga are 11-3 on the season and up two spots to fourth this week. Valley Falls is 16-2 on the season after a 2-0 night on Tuesday with wins over Maur Hill-Mount Academy and Oskaloosa and jumped up three spots to fifth in the polls. 

Two area teams are featured in the Class 3A poll this week as the Nemaha Central Thunder continue to roll through the Big Seven and are 13-1 after beating ACCHS twice on Tuesday night and come in at sixth in the polls this week. Joining them in the 3A rankings is Maur Hill-Mount Academy for the first time this year as the Ravens are 13-4 after splitting with Valley Falls (loss) and Oskaloosa (win) on Tuesday night and check in at tenth in the rankings this week. 

The Holton Wildcats remain ranked in Class 4A-Division II and are 12-6 on the season after beating Jeff West twice on Tuesday night, but the Wildcats fell down to fourth in the rankings, falling out of the number one spot for the first time this season.
