Both teams came into Friday night and week four action riding different waves as Centralia looked to string together back-to-back wins and build upon their shutout win in week three, while Doniphan West was looking to bounce back from their first loss and an emotional week. At the end of the night it was the Centralia Panthers on homecoming earning the 44-15 victory over Doniphan West.

After the Mustangs offense sputtered on the first series and they had to punt Centralia set up on the 50-yard line for their first drive of the game and just less than two minutes into the contest busted a 50-yard run by John Johnson for a 7-0 lead with the PAT with 10:20 left in the first quarter. Doniphan West answered with a huge special teams return by Carson Lackey who set up the Mustangs on the Centralia 32-yard line and Doniphan West took that opportunity and turned it into points to tie the game at 7-7 with a Levi Watts one-yard touchdown run.

After that Centralia would do the rest of the scoring and the Panther defense reined in the Mustangs offense keeping them out of the endzone and not allowing them to mount drives. The Panthers continued to be on the prowl on offense scoring four more touchdowns before halftime as John Johnson had a four-yard touchdown run and Braden Deters had one and five-yard touchdown scores, plus Deters hit Johnson for a 22-yard touchdown through the air with 32.7 seconds left in the first half, giving Centralia a 37-7 halftime lead.

The second half proved to be quite on the scoring front until Centralia took advantage of an opportunity as Johnson scored his third rushing touchdown of the night this time from 13-yards out and with the PAT made it 44-7 in the third quarter.

Doniphan West finally broke through again to find the endzone with 4:15 left to go in the game as Garret Dunlap had a four-yard touchdown run and the two-point conversion was successful making 44-15 and Centralia went on to run the clock out for the win by that margin.

Leading the charge for Centralia was the play Johnson who ran for 222 yards on 19 carries with three touchdowns and a receiving touchdown earning Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" on KMZA radio. Deters finished with 90 yards on 14 carries with two scores and was 2-3 for 25 yards with a touchdown, while the Panthers posted 434 yards of offense (409 yards rushing as a team) and had 10 different guys with at least one carry on the night helping them improve to 3-1 on the season.

Doniphan West in the loss Watts finish 13-26 for 95 yards with two interceptions, while Lane Spiker had 44 yards on six carries and 32 yards receiving on four catches. The Mustangs managed just 160 total yards of offense (only 65 yards rushing - with only six yards rushing in the first half). The loss sends the Mustangs to 2-2 on the season.

Up next Doniphan West steps into District play as they host Maranatha on Friday, October 2nd, while Centralia travels to Washington County for a big TVL showdown.
