The Northeast Kansas League cross country titles were up for grabs on Thursday and Pleasant Ridge went home with plenty of hardware for the trophy case as both the boys and girls won the team NEKL titles. 

In the boys competition Pleasant Ridge earned the team title by a 42-point margin with Luke Oatney leading the way as he placed first with a time of 16:16.19. Four other Ram boys notched Top 10 finishes, also on the day as Ronny Jared, Gabe Younger, Noah Tattershall and Clayton Price finished third (17:03.89), fifth (17:29.11), ninth (17:53.16) and tenth (17:54.39). Dayton Flack and Garrett Silvers picked up Top 20 finishes for the Rams finishing 12th and 15th. For the lady Rams it was a trio of Top 10 finishers pushing them to the team NEKL title by 11 points over Maur Hill. Bridget Howard earned a fifth place finish with a time of 21:52.45, while Grace Dedeke took seventh place (22:41.08) and Kaylie Warden earned ninth (22:44.27), while Taylor Satre finished just outside of the Top 10 at 11th. Cassandra Thompson, Sara Nooner and Grace Wagner all picked up Top 20 finishes for the lady Rams finishing 12th, 13th and 15th, respectively. 

The top spot in the girls race went to Faith Little who won with a time of 19:52.72, winning the girls title by a over 1:13. Her teammate Hannah Davault earned sixth place with a time of 22:05.44, while Brianna Cattrell and Alexis Rieschick finished 14th and 18th. Dalton Chartier had the best Cobra boys showing finishing 14th, while Westin Jacobsen, Andrew Pino and Xavier Fritz placed 18th, 19th and 20th. 

Maur Hill-Mount Academy Raven, Jack Siebert had the second best boys time of the day earning the silver behind a time of 16:29.14, while Ayden Black finished 13th for the Ravens. In the girls race Grace Siebert, Megan Goracke and Dorothy Hoopes each notched Top 10 finishes placing fourth (21:22.79), eighth (22:42.09) and tenth (22:50.14), while Caitlin Riley placed 16th. 

The Jefferson County North Chargers were led by a second place finish from Carissa McAfee as she posted a time of 21:06.43 to earn the silver, while her teammates, Rose Wendling and Kayla Hutzell placed 17th and 19th. In the boys action Evan Weishaar placed eighth behind a time of 17:52.39 and Thomas Steichen finished 11th. 

Ceara Funk led McLouth on the day as she posted a time of 21:13.08 to earn the bronze medal, while Tristan Funk earned a sixth place finish in the boys race with a time of 17:38.20. 

A fourth place finish by Braeden Pfau led the Oskaloosa Bears on the day as he posted a time of 17:07.03, while Jordan Butler took seventh place with a time of 17:49.00 and Shane Adams grabbed a 17th place finish. 

For Valley Falls had one boy and girl Top 20 finisher on the day as Matthew Branam placed 16th and Rachel Woodgate finished 20th.
