The Clifton-Clyde Eagles might not have the most daunting record but don't let that fool you they compete perhaps the toughest volleyball League in the State in the Twin Valley League, so when Sub-State rolled around and the Eagles were not partnered with fellow TVL teams it was a welcomed sight and they were ready having played top flight competition all season.

Entering Sub-State as the third season with a 12-16 record the Eagles knew they could put things together and make a return trip to the Class 1A-Division I State tournament, as they got a taste of the State tournament last year.

After a bye in the opening round Clifton-Clyde took the host of the Sub-State in Wakefield and took them down in straight sets and in impressive fashion winning 25-7, 25-9 to earn the right to play for the Sub-State title.

Lebo stood in the way of the Eagles in the Sub-State Championship and things continued to come together for Clifton-Clyde as they won a tough straight set match 26-24, 25-21 to earn a bid to the 1A-Division I State tournament.

The Eagles will take flight to Hays for the second straight year this year carrying a 15-16 record to the 1A-DI State tournament and will look to build upon last year’s 1-2 performance at State. The action starts in Hays on Friday, October 30th at Fort Hays State University.
