The quest for the three-peat starts next week in Hays at the 1A-Division I State volleyball tournament as the Centralia Panthers claimed another Sub-State title and earned a bid to the State tournament on Saturday.

Panthers headed into Sub-State as the number one seed and after a first round bye took on Immaculata in the Semifinals and won the matchup in straight sets 25-15, 25-15 to move in to the Sub-State Championship.

The Hanover Wildcats stood in the way of Centralia and their return trip to Hays for another State volleyball tournament and the Panthers won the battle of the cats in straight sets 25-14, 25-19 to earn a spot at the 1A-DI State volleyball tournament.

Centralia heads to the 1A-DI State tournament ranked second in the latest KVA Class 1A-DI rankings with a 38-1 record and looks to defend their State title as they are the two-time defending champs. The Panthers posted a 5-0 record last year at State winning their second straight title and 12th in school history. This will be the fifth straight year at State for the Panthers and they have not finished below third in the past four years.

Centralia will hit the court in Hays at Fort Hays State University to get the 1A-DI State tournament underway on Friday, October 30th. (All matches will be broadcasted on 92.1 KMZA and mscsports.net)
