Jackson Heights 24, Jeff County North 14

In was their first meeting since 2013 and the initial playoff game for both JCN and Jackson Heights since 2012.  It was the Cobras that ran for 301 yards and converted all three of their two-point-conversions while intercepting the Chargers final two drives of the night to get the home victory and first playoff win since 2002.

After forcing a three-and-out, Jackson Heights drove 66 yards on just 7 plays and senior, Adam Brey (playing with a bum knee) ran in a two yard touchdown.  JCN however would go on a pair of 12 play drives to answer and took a 14-8 lead with 9:38 left in the first half as Bryce Noll (4 yards) and Sam Larson (12 yards) ran for touchdowns and JCN got two points on a pass from Noll to Cole Bryant.  Yet, Jackson Heights recovered from losing a fumble and drove 72 yards on 16 plays to reclaim a 16-14 halftime lead on a 6 yard scoring run by Mason Thomas and another two-point conversion pass from Wyatt Olbering to Zane Richter.

The Cobras went on their second drive of nearly nine minutes to start the third quarter before turning the ball over on downs at the JCN 10.  The Chargers had a 48 yard run negated because of a penalty and eventually threw an interception to Richter (6th of the year) early in the fourth quarter.  Jackson Heights made it a two possession lead with a 7 yard TD run by Brady Holliday, who added the two-point run to make it 24-14 with 7:51 to play and JCN again drove across midfield before throwing and interception to Olberding to seal the game for the Cobras.

Holliday ran for 153 yards on 23 carries to earn Citizens State Bank and Trust Company of Hiawatha, "Player to Bank On" Honors.  Mason Thomas added 60yards rushing as Jackson Heights won their seventh straight game to improve to 8-1 on the season and advance to play at Olpe next week.  Senior lineman, Wyatt Roles was named the Denison State Bank "Lineman of the Game."

JCN ends their season at 6-4 under first year head coach Jeff Schneider and ended up with 266 yards. Senior, Bryce Noll completed his first 11 passes of the night and finished 20 of 30 for 161 yards while four different receivers caught at least three passes.  Brayden Summers led the group with 49 yards on 7 catches while Cole Bryant had 52 yards on 4 grabs and also had a big red zone interception late in the first half which kept the Chargers within two points.
