(KLZA)-- The Mound City Girls place 7th at the Missouri State Cross Country Meet in Jefferson City Saturday.
Senior Kendey Eaton placed 5th in a time of 20:50. It is Kendey Eatons 4th career state medal having finished 7th as a freshman, 8th as a sophomore and third as a junior.
Eaton’s 5th place finish this year is more impressive, coming less than a year after tearing the ACL in her left knee and undergoing surgery.
Other Panther runners at state included
Deanna Clayton 53rd, Henna Kivilahti 81st.
Joeigh Eaton 90th, Adrienne Messer, Jocelyn Clayton,
Jessica Johnson, and Syliva Foust.
Destiny Kosek and Grace Martin competed at the State meet for Tarkio.
Ty Jones of Rock Port earned a state Medal finishing 14th in Class I to earn a medal in this third try at the State Cross Country meet.
The races were held at the Oak Hills Golf Center in Jefferson City
