Local Athletes From Holton, Sabetha & Riverside Helping Baker University Football to NAIA Playoffs

For the third time in the last four years the Baker University football team is head to the NAIA Football Championship Series playoffs. The second ranked Wildcats are set to host 17th Point University (GA) on Saturday, November 21st at Liston stadium with a noon kickoff in the first round of the playoffs. 

Baker enters the game 10-1 and won their second conference title in the last three years claiming the 2015 Heart of America Athletic Conference Southern Division championship. 

Six area athletes are on the Baker roster and several are making impacts all hailing from the Big Seven League. Senior, Tanner Clark plays along the offensive line for Wildcats and is from Holton, while three more guys are from Holton on the Baker squad, too in freshman, Indie Allen, Cameron Karn and Cooper Allen who are listed at linebacker, tight end and offensive line, respectively. Indie Allen earned Heart of America Special Teams Player of the Week earlier this season against for blocking a punt and returning it for a score against Central Methodist. 

Former Sabetha Bluejay, Kegan Schumann and former Riverside Cyclone, Andrae McGaughy are both freshman on the Baker team playing linebacker and wide receiver. 

The Wildcats look to continue their season on Saturday in the NAIA playoffs when they host Point University, and no doublt, local Big 7 League athletes are set to be a big part of Baker Football in the future.
