Twin Valley League 11-Man Football All-League Honors Announced

The high school football season is behind us and All-League honors have been handed out the Twin Valley League has handed out the 11-man All-League honors after another highly competitive season of action. 

The League this year had a new champion for the first time in 16 years as Washington County Tigers dethroned Centralia as the TVL 11-man football champs finishing 5-0 in the League and 10-1 overall. The Tigers made the 3A playoffs and won their District. Senior, Konnor Penning leads the Tigers in All-League honors as he earned first team All-League at quarterback and defensive back, while senior, Cole Thompson picked up first team honors at receiver and defensive back and junior, Hunter Kier earned first team as a back on offense and at inside linebacker on defense. Junior, Dylan Nelson also earned first team All-League honors at defensive tackle and second team offensive line. While junior, Jerrod Otott was named first team at offensive guard, senior, Neal Elher earned first team honors at defensive end and junior, Levi Gauby picked up second team All-League honors on the defensive line for the Tigers, also. 

The Troy Trojans finished second in the TVL this year with a 4-1 League record and finished 10-2 overall with a 2-1A State runner-up performance. Junior, Cuttar Huss leads the All-League honors for the Trojans as he earned first team at receiver, defensive back and returner. While junior, Wil Smith picked up first team honors at offensive guard and defensive end. Senior, Chris Winkel was named first team All-League at outside linebacker and second team at receiver, while senior, Tucker Morris earned first team All-League at defensive tackle and senior, Luke Smith picked up first team honors on offense at center. Junior, Reid Greaser grabbed second team honors on offense as a back. 

Centralia Panthers finished third in the TVL this year finishing 3-2 in the League and 5-5 overall, making the 3A playoffs. Senior, John Johnson leads the Panthers All-League honors earning first team at the back spot on offense and inside linebacker on defense. Seniors, Peyton Deters and Ryan Vernon each picked up first team All-League on defense at defensive tackle and outside linebacker, respectively, while Deters also got the first team nod at offensive tackle. Vernon also picked up second team honors on the offensive line, while senior, Trenton Stallbaumer picked up second team All-League honors at receiver and senior, Braden Deters got second team at the back spot on offense and defensive back on defense. 

Doniphan West Mustangs finished off the football season with a 4-5 record and 2-3 in the TVL this year good for fourth place in the League. Seniors, Cooper Leach and Justin Clark along with junior, Carson Lackey all earned first team All-League honors for the Mustangs on offense at receiver, offensive tackle and back. Senior, Lane Spiker picked up first team All-League honors at both kicker and punter, while earning second team at defensive back. Senior, Garrett Dunlap earned second team All-League at linebacker and Lackey grabbed second team honors on the defensive line. 

Valley Heights Mustangs finished the season 2-7 and 1-4 in TVL play finishing fifth in the League and in the All-League honors are led by senior, Keaton DeWalt who earned first team honors at fullback and inside linebacker, while senior, Micah Kenworthy picked up first team All-League honors at offensive tackle and outside linebacker. Junior, Hunter Stevenson also earned first team honors for the Mustangs coming in the offensive backfield. 

For the Onaga Buffaloes it was a 1-8 season and 0-5 record in League action and four guys earned second team All-League honors. Senior, Eli Zidek picked up second team honors on the offensive line, while seniors, Garrett Ames and Jace Fischer and sophomore, Tanner Marten each earned second team All-League at defensive line, defensive back and linebacker, respectively.
