After a pair of nights with close games in Onaga in Class 1A-DI Sub-State basketball Friday night provided two lopsided affairs in the girls Semifinals. Frankfort opened the night with a strong 77-54 win over Immacualta and Centralia finished out the night with a 57-20 rout of Doniphan West.

Frankfort worked out a 8-0 lead early and expanded that lead to 17-0 in the final two minutes of the first quarter holding Immaculata scoreless until under 1:20 in the first quarter and the Wildcats led 20-6 after one frame. That lead grew to 41-18 at half and the Wildcats never looked back despite Immaculata starting to hit shots in the second half Frankfort answered with plenty of responses. The Wildcats used the play of freshman Emilee Ebert to establish control early with 14 points from her in the first quarter alone and the team connected on 12 three-pointers in the 77-54 win.

The loss ends the Immaculata Raiders season with an 11-11 record with Jordan Sachse leading the Raiders with 19 points, hitting five three's, while Sadie Schubert posted 14 points and Ally Campbell scored 12 points.

Frankfort with the win moves to 13-10 on the year and was led by Ebert who scored a season-high 31 points with 19 in the first half, earning her Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" honors on KMZA. Kyla Hardwick chipped in 12 points and Rebecca Adams posted nine points.

The nightcap was much the same as the first game of the night...one-sided. Centralia started the game strong led by nine points from Cassidy Haufler in the first quarter the Panthers pounced on Doniphan West early and led 20-4 after the first quarter, forcing the Mustangs in the turnovers at a high pace. Centralia carried a 29-10 lead into halftime and behind a 26-7 third quarter extended that lead playing with the reserves the final eight minutes of the contest as the Panthers secured that 19th win in a row winning 57-20.

Doniphan West who was without senior, Kenzie Blevins for the game wraps up the seaosn 6-14 this year year and was led by Lexie Whetstine and Kirsetn Huss who scored six points each.

Centralia moved to 21-1 on the year and was led by Katie Glatczak who scored 17 points, while Haufler posted 16 points and earned Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" honors on KMZA after helping get Centralia started on the night and leading them to the sizeable lead early. Madison Lueger chipped in 10 points in the contest, also.

That setups up the Sub-State Championship game for Saturday night at 6:00pm in Onaga as Centralia will take on Frankfort for the right to go to that Class 1A-DI State tournament. (Game will be on 92.1 KMZA and MSCSports.net along with the boys Championship game)
