(Victoria beat Hanover 63-60 - box score

After falling to a fellow Twin Valley League team in the Semifinals of the 1A-Division I State tournament the Hanover Wildcats boys hit the court one more time to vie for third place at State and took on a tough Victoria team and fell just short in the game 63-60 to place fourth.

Hanover found themselves down early and in a big hole as the Knights led 25-14 after the first quarter and trailed by as much as 22 points in the first half, but with a 20-14 second quarter Hanover only trailed 39-34 at the half and it was a game. Wildcats continued to push Victoria notching a 13-9 third quarter and made it a one-point game going into the fourth. The matchup would go down to the wire and Victoria making some free throws late would hold on for the 63-60 win.

Wildcats shot 48.1% from the floor in the game but only 4-17 from three-point range and out rebounded Victoria 36-26 but the Knights strong start to the game pushed them to the win.

Hanover in the loss was led by Michael Jueneman who finished with 18 points and six rebounds, while Paden Pralle, Devin Jueneman and Will Bruna chipped in 10 points each.

The loss finishes Hanover season at 21-6 after beating ST Paul 61-40 in the first round and falling to Centralia 54-44 in the Semifinal and 63-60 loss to Victoria in the third place contest. For the tenth time the Wildcats finished the boys basketball season with a Top four finish at State.
