For one final time some top senior wrestlers from across Kansas will hit the mats to showcase their talents as they are set to compete in the 2016 Senior Classic "Battle of the Best" put on by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association. The event is Thursday, March 24th with the duals starting at 7:00pm in Topeka at the Kansas Expocentre. This year Holton Wildcat, Justin Rieschick and Marysville Bulldog, Chris Deters will both participate in the "Battle of the Best" by the KWCA.

Rieschick closed out his Holton Wildcat by earning second place in Class 4A at State at 145lbs and finished the year 43-6 on the mats. Justin made State in all four years competing for Holton and registered a Top five finish every single year and helped Holton win a pair of team 4A State wrestling titles as a freshman and sophomore, while the team took third his junior year and tied for tenth this year. The Holton senior will wrestle at the listed weight class of 138lbs for the "Battle of the Best" program against Carter Wessling of Beloit.

For Marysville Bulldog Chris Deters is definitely a strong way to cap his high school wrestling career by going 47-1 and claiming the Class 3-2-1A 132lbs State title. Deters on top of his performances had plenty of teammates succeed at State and help Marysville notch their best team finish at State taking third in Class 3-2-1A.
