Every year the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association honors top senior wrestlers from across the State with the Senior award. To be eligible for the award you must have a .500 record or better and for first team honors must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, while for honorable mention honors a wrestler must have a cumulative GPA between 3.0 to 3.49.

Eight area wrestlers earned that Senior award this year with five earning first team honors and three picking up honorable mention honors.

In Class 3-2-1A a pair of Sabetha Bluejays earned first team Senior award honors as both Nate Niehues (145lbs) and Matt Burdick (152lbs) each got the nod. Doniphan West Mustang, Garret Dunlap (160lbs) also picked up first team honors after another strong year, while his teammate, Kody Collins (182lbs) earned honorable mention honors.

Pair of Royal Valley Panthers in Zack Lux (138lbs) and Noah Hart (152lbs) both also registered honorable mention honors for the Senior award from the KWCA.

In Class 4A a pair of Holton Wildcats registered first team honors for the Senior award as Justin Pool (138lbs) and Justin Rieschick (145lbs) each received the honors.
