Zane Richter of Jackson Heights Puts on Show & Wins MVP of North Central Kansas All-Star Basketball Game

Area senior athletes are competing in several All-Star basketball games all around the State and Jackson Heights Cobra senior, Zane Richter took to the court in the North Central Kansas All-Star games this past Sunday at Barton Community College and he put on a show. 

Richter was part of the National team which won the boys All-Star game over the American team 162-124 and Zane lit up the scoring himself with 25 points for the winning team. The Cobra senior finished 8-8 from the floor including seven three-pointers and also was 2-2 from the free throw line to tally his 25 points. He rounded out his stat line with nine rebounds and recorded three assists also in the game helping him earn MVP honors. The two teams in the All-Star contest shot 100-plus shots each and over 40 three-pointers each in the contest. 

The Jackson Heights senior who helped guide the Cobras to the Class 2A State title this year, while picking up several All-State honors, All-NEKL first team honors, Class 2A "Player of the Year" honors by Sports in Kansas and more will also be a part of the annual KBCA All-Star game on June 25th in Salina at Kansas Wesleyan University. Richter plans on continuing his basketball career at the college level and is the process of making visits and making his decision.
