Clifton-Clyde Girls & Boys Take Fourth at Bennington Track Invite

Clifton-Clyde Eagles started the track and field season by taking flight at the Bennington Invitational and put together plenty of solid performances as both the girls and boys teams placed fourth on the day. 

The lady Eagles took fourth place out of nine teams competing and finished only 10 points out of third place, while the boys notched fourth place out of 10 teams on the day. 

A pair of gold medals on the girl's side of competition led Clifton-Clyde on the day as Elizabeth Nobert and Maycee Callihan each won an event. Nobert ran to the win in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 49.80, while also taking second in the 100 meter hurdles. Callihan tossed her way to the gold in the shot put with a toss of 32'11.50 and took third in the discus. 

Elsie Feight notched a pair of Top three finishes for the lady Eagles taking second in the shot put and third in the javelin, while Lacey Biggerstaff earned the silver in the pole vault and Taylor Thompson notched third place finish in the high jump. 

For the Clifton-Clyde boys four second places finishes and two third place finishes led the day. Nathan Ohlde grabbed second place in the 110 meter hurdles, while also earning the bronze in the 300 meter hurdles. Both Christian Seifert and Bradley Koch snagged second place finishes in the 300 meter hurdles and high jump, respectively. Brant Douglas picked up the other third place finish for the Eagles on the day, taking third in the 400 meter dash. 

The track season continues for the Eagles on Tuesday, April 12th at the Washington County Invitational.
