Onaga Boys Golf Wins Linn Invitational

As League tournaments and Regionals loom in the coming weeks several Twin Valley League teams teed it up in the Linn Invitational on Friday to compete against each other. 

The Onaga Buffaloes at the end of the posted the top four-man team score, 369 to claim the top spot at the Linn Invitational by seven strokes on the day's action. Vermillion took home second place with their first team in the competition posting a team score of 377. Washington County was the only other team with a four-man team score under 400 at 394 to take third place as a team. Vermillion's second team finished with a 403 team score for fourth, while Valley Heights and Linn each posted team scores of 430 and 466, respectively for fifth and sixth as teams. Hanover also competed on the day but did not have a four-man team score. 

A round of 82 was the top round on the day and it was a Linn Bulldog at Linn's home tournament claiming the top spot by three-strokes as Chase McGatlin took home first place. His teammate, Andrew Meyer joined him in the Top 10 finishing seventh after carding a round of 88. 

Onaga on their way to first place as a team had three players card Top 10 rounds on the day. Jace Fischer led those performances taking third with an 86, while Tyler Fleming and Trenton Ross placed fourth and ninth with rounds of 87 and 92. 

Vermillion and Washington County each had a pair of golfers post Top 10 rounds at the Linn Invitational. Jason Gore led Vermillion taking second with a round of 85, while Austin Hardwick finished eighth with a 91. Hunter Johnson and Evan Oullette of Washington County finished sixth and tenth with rounds 88 and 94. 

Valley Heights Mustang, Bryan Yungeberg posted the best round for the Mustangs finishing fifth with an 87.
