Clifton-Clyde Boys Take Third & Girls Fourth at Lincoln Track Invite

The Clifton-Clyde Eagles flew out of Thompson Relays at Lincoln with several top performances as the track season continued on Friday. 

Eight teams were in action on the day at the Thompson Relays and the Eagles notched third and fourth place team finishes for the boys and girls, respectively. The boys tied for third place and finished only seven points out of second as a team, while the lady Eagles were only 11.5 points off a third place team finish. The Lincoln girls took first and the Bennington boys took first place as teams. 

The best individual finish came with in the boy's pole vault competition as Brian Reese registered a vault of 11'06 to take first place, winning the competition by six inches. Three more Top three finishes were earned by the Eagle boys as Nathan Ohlde and Austin Frakes each brought home a silver medal coming in the 110 meter hurdles and long jump, respectively, while the boys 4x110 meter relay team grabbed third place. 

In the girls competition Clifton-Clyde had seven Top three finishes on the day at the Thompson Relays. Elizabeth Nobert raced to a pair of second place finishes in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles for the Eagles, while Maycee Callihan had the second best toss on the day in the discus and also earned a third place finish in the shot put. Three more Top three finishes were earned in the field events for the lady Eagles as Lacey Biggerstaff placed second in the pole vault, while Baylie Bowser finished third in the javelin and Emily Coffman placed third in the high jump. 

The track season continues for Clifton-Clyde at the Twin Valley League meet on Thursday, May 12th next week.
