JCN Girls & Boys Win Home Track Invitational

As the track regular season starts to slow down and League meets and Regionals are on the horizon the Jefferson County North Chargers hosted several area teams for action on Friday and the several great performances were put forth. 

At the end of the day it was the host JCN Chargers dominating their way to the boys and girls team titles with over 200 points for both teams. The boys posted 220 points to take first, while Oskaloosa took second and Valley Falls finished in third. The rest of the boys team finishes were McLouth in fourth, Doniphan West fifth, ACCHS sixth, Veritas Christian seventh and Kickapoo Nation eighth. 

In the girls action the lady Chargers notched 251 total points for first place, while Oskaloosa took second and ACCHS grabbed third place. The rest of the girls team finishes were Valley Falls in fourth, McLouth fifth, Doniphan West sixth, Veritas Christian seventh and Kickapoo Nationa eighth. 

On their way to first place as a team for the boys and girls the JCN Chargers racked up 13 individual event wins on the day. Eight of those 13 came in the boys competition with five in field events as Gavin Polson, Joel Abel, Jacob Schrick, Ridge Robertson and Braden Schneider won the discus (122'10.50), high jump (6'00), javelin (158'11), pole vault (11'03) and shot put (39'04), respectively. On the track the JCN boys earned the gold in the 4x400 meter relay (3:37), while Cole Bryant won the 400 meter dash (54.60) and Brayden Summers ran his way to first in the 1600 meter run (5:04.20). 

The lady Chargers had three winners in the field events and two on the track at their home Invitational. In the field events Ravyn Jobbins won the javelin (108'10), Kaylee Page took home first in the pole vault (7'6) and Grace Kramer won the discus (106'00). On the track it was Jentri Fowler and Carissa McAfee earning golds for JCN winning the 100 meter hurdles (17.79) and 3200 meter run (13:23), respectively. 

One Oskaloosa Bear brought home four gold medals by herself as Brittini Pryor won the 300 meter hurdles (50.41), high jump (4'10), long jump (16'01) and triple jump (32'04.50). She wasn't the only multi-gold winner for Oskaloosa on the day as Dillon Grother swept the hurdles win the 110 and 300 meter hurdles with times of 16.79 and 42.82. Four more first place finishes were earned by the Bears as Jordan Butler won the boys 3200 meter run (11:31), the boys 4x100 meter relay (44.85) took first, Jaden Courter won the girls shot put (34'10.50) and Madison Grother won the girls 100 meter dash (13.73). 

ACCHS Tigers snagged six event wins on the day all coming in the girls competition led by the relay team as the it was sweep in the relays fo the lady Tigers winning the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays with times of 54.33, 4:23 and 10:40.48. On the track Beba Scholz, Madison Bissell and Kayla Vessar also won individual races taking first in the 1600 meter run (6:14.84), 200 meter dash (27.17) and 800 meter run (2:47), respectively.

A first place by Justin Myers in the boys 800 meter run (2:11) and by the boys 4x800 meter relay team (9:10.63) led Valley Falls on the day at the JCN Invitational. 

Doniphan West was led by new school records from Carson Lackey in the 100 and 200 meter dashes as he won both events with times of 10.99 and 22.95. 

McLouth had Dimitri Tullis claim a pair of gold medals as he leapt to wins in the long jump (19'03) and triple jump (40'11.75).
