Vermillion Wins the Twin Valley League Boys Golf Title

After competing against each other all regular season in several golf competitions it was time for the League tournament and Valley Heights hosted the Twin Valley League tournament in Waterville. 

At the end of the competition it was a team familiar with the top spot finishing atop the team standings and claiming the TVL title as Vermillion brought home first place as a team carding a team score of 170. Onaga Buffaloes who have enjoyed a strong year on the links and finished only nine strokes off of the TVL team title posting a team score of 179 to take second place. Valley Heights and Washington County finished third and fourth with team scores of 197 and 203. Hanover and Linn also had competitors in action on the day but did not field a full four-man team. 

Vermillion not only snagged the TVL team title but Ryan Vernon won the individual League championship with the best round of the day shooting a 37 to win by three strokes. A quartet of Vermillion golfers joined Vernon in the Top 10 giving Vermillion five of the Top 10 individual performances at the TVL tournament. Jason Gore with a 42 snagged fifth place, while Josh Tynon, Brandon Anderson and Austin Hardwick tallied finishes of seventh, eighth and tenth with rounds of 45, 45 and 46, respectively. 

Onaga was led by the second and third best rounds at the TVL tournament as Tyler Fleming and Jace Fischer earned those finishes with rounds of 40 and 41, respectively. Trenton Ross with a 46 grabbed ninth place for the Buffaloes. 

Linn and Valley Heights each had Top 10 finishers at the TVL tournament as Andrew Meyer with a 43 took fifth place for Linn and Bryan Yungeberg of Valley Heights earned a sixth place finish with a 44.

The TVL golfers how turn their attention to Regional golf action coming up on Monday, May 16th.
