Big Seven League High School Baseball & Softball All-League Honors Awarded

The high school baseball and softball season is in the books and the Big Seven League has handed out their All-League honors for the 2016 season. 

On the baseball side of competition the Nemaha Central Thunder took the Big Seven League title and went on to win the Class 3A State title in just their fourth year as a program. A trio of Thunder earned first team All-League, while one more got the nod for honorable mention. Dylan Schraad, Austin Gerety and Neil Sudbeck each earned first team All-League at pitcher, infield and catcher, respectively. Gerety and Schraad each also picked up honorable mention honors at pitcher and outfield, while Kurtis Niehues was named honorable mention infield. 

Trio of Royal Valley Panther boys who helped guide the team to the Class 3A State tournament were named first team All-League as Noah Hart, Nick Ehrhart and Derrick Barger picked up the honors at pitcher, infield and infield. Zack Lux and Garrett Schultz each were named honorable mention outfield. 

Jeff West Tigers had Keishon Brown and Jarred Ice both earn first team All-League at outfield and infield, while Skylar Callahan was named honorable mention at infield and utility. 

Peyton Kahl led Perry Lecompton with their All-League honors earning first team pitcher and outfield, while Blaine Pattin was named first team infield for the Kaws. Mtichell Bond and Noah Scrimsher each picked up honorable mention honors at catcher and pitcher. 

Holton Wildcats, Aaron Bain and Brady Mulroy earned first team All-League at outfield and utility, while ACCHS Tiger, Hunter Ostertag was named first team All-League at utility. 

The Big Seven League softball title was shared this year between Royal Valley and Perry Lecompton and both of those teams highlight the All-League honors. 

Four Royal Valley lady Panthers were name All-League first team as Masey Lafferty and Erica Pruyser earned the honor at pitcher, Sarah Beam at infield and Maggie Schuetz at catcher. Ali Bryan and Morgan New each picked up honorable mention honors at outfield and infield. 

A trio of Perry Lecompton lady Kaws snagged first team All-League honors with Abbi Folks, Haleigh Robertson and Sam Karten grabbing the honors at infield, outfield and catcher. Kelsey Bowser and Megan Fast earned honorable mention at infield and pitcher. 

Holton Wildcats, Quinn Holaday and Casi Van Ausdall earned first team All-League at utility/DH and infield, while Holaday also earned honorable mention honors at infield. Annalyss Phillips and Sarah Bond each were named honorable mention at catcher and pitcher. 

Jeff West Tigers, Emma Broxterman and Karleigh Wright each picked up first team All-League honors at outfield and infield, while Faith Becker was named honorable mention pitcher and Gabby Overstreet earned honorable mention at catcher. 

Two Riverside Cyclones earned first team All-League as Isabella Libel and Rayme Butts earned the honors at outfield and utility/DH. 

Hiawatha had Luaren Bent earn honorable mention All-League honors at both pitcher and utility/DH. While for Nemaha Central, Erin Schmitz and Amanda Stallbaumer earned honorable mention at infield and outfield.
