Benedictine Football Rolls to 2-0

Week 2 looked a lot like week 1 for the Benedictine College football squad as they took a commanding lead early in the game and enjoyed a 58-6 win over Avila Saturday afternoon.

By the time the home-opening crowd had gotten settled in their seats, the Ravens had scored 17 first quarter points and pushed the lead to 31-6 by halftime.  The running game was featured as Ejay Johnson ran for 67 yards and Tyler Henness added 62 more.  Nine Raven ball carriers combined for 231 yards on 42 carries.  Quarterback Jacob Koester continued to pass effectively as he went 12 of 16 for 136 yards wiyhout an interception. Kyle Harmyk came off the bench to connect on 5 of 8 passes and add 51 yards to the total.

Also for the second week, Chandler Staley led the BC defense with 7 tackles. 

The Ravens are back on the road this Saturday in an evening matchup with long time rival Missouri Valley.  The Vikings knocked off Graceland 28-3 and are now red-hot and 2-0.
